We’re getting an increasing number of requests from charities and local groups for stalls at the market. We have responded to these informally so far, but the increasing level of interest means that we need to have transparent rules, so that everyone knows how access works.
The primary purpose of Peterhead Producers’ Market is to be a successful commercial event that brings people to the town centre on the first Saturday of each month. Stallholders pay for their stalls. We need to ensure that they feel that this is worth their while, so they will come back. Our priority is to achieve a good range and quantity of food, produce, and craft stalls.
We are keen to support local charities and good causes. So, there will be space for two such organisations at every market. Bookings should be made via the market manager. You can apply for one market at a time only, and we will try to accommodate as many groups as possible across the year. There will be a waiting list, so we cannot guarantee a particular date. We also cannot guarantee a place, it will depend on the compatibility of your organisation with a food and produce market.
We will keep these arrangements under review. If the market increases in size, then we will look at increasing the number of charity stalls.
